**SIMPLIFYING: Removing Brackets 8a(a + c) + 5c(a - c). **

Brackets can be removed by multiplying out the values within.

The gradually simplified equation on the left is in algebraic form and that on the right expressed using your chosen input values. Confirm each process with a calculator, pencil and paper.

The distributive law of multiplication means that multiplying a sum or difference by a factor is equivalent to multiplying each term of the sum or difference by that factor.
