AC POWER: Amplifier Power Gain/Loss.

A power amplifier is designed to supply energy to an external load which is usually of a low impedance and therefore requires a power supply which is able to deliver sufficient current to meet this demand.

Power gain or loss is measured in decibels, which is a logarithmic ratio. It is useful to remember that ± 3dB is a doubling or halving of power.
